Start collecting Red Tickets!

The Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce encourages shopping local for the holiday season and promoting the sustainability of island commerce, so we are continuing our popular Holiday Red Ticket Program. Participating Chamber member businesses give out one red ticket for every $25 spent. On December 24^th at 1PM, 6 lucky winners of $1,000, and 1 extra-lucky winner of $5,000 will be chosen at random from the multitude of tickets. You must be present to win.

Christmas Tree Lighting and Community Caroling

On the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 27th at 4PM we kick off our Annual Tree Lighting & Community Caroling. Enjoy the beauty of Nantucket as we prepare for this one-of-a-kind holiday season. Over 150 trees will magically come alive in a blaze of light. Musical performances by The Accidentals and Naturals.

Please note that Main Street will be closed to vehicles from 12pm to 6pm.

Festival of Trees

Each year, community members, local merchants, nonprofit organizations, artists, artisans, and schoolchildren design magnificent trees displayed in the Whaling Museum for visitors to enjoy throughout the season.

Shopping and Dining

10:00 AM - 1:00 AM

Enjoy the festive decorations all over the island as you shop downtown and in the mid-island area. So many of our wonderful restaurants are open for the Stroll. If you can, make your reservations in advance.

10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Stroll Marketplace. Meander through our wondrous Christmas Stroll Marketplace and celebrate the enchantment of the season.  Indulge in the aromas of delectable food and beverages as you chat with friends and survey a variety of handcrafted gifts and merchandise sold by Chamber members and non-profit organizations. Located at the Stop & Shop Lot Downtown, 9 Salem Street, near the bottom of Main Street.

NOON

Santa Arrives via his nautical “sleigh” just about noontime. You may greet him near Straight Wharf or all along Main Street. Santa will stay for a while to receive visitors as his elves hand out candy canes to all.

ALL DAY

A host of holiday activities, including strolling carolers in Victorian garb, the Magical Talking Tree, craft shows, a European-style Christmas Marketplace, and more, guarantee fun for the entire family.

OF NOTE

Please note that two rows in the downtown Stop & Shop parking lot will be closed from the afternoon of December 4th to the evening of December 5th.
