EGAN MARITIME INSTITUTE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR PAULINE PROCH LEAVING TO FORM NEW VENTURE

Nantucket Island, MA – Egan Maritime Institute announces its support for its Executive Director Pauline Proch who will leave her current position at the end of this year to form a new venture outside of EMI focused on serving the educational and social needs of the Nantucket teen community.

Matt Sanford, President of the Egan Board of Trustees, said, "We can't thank Pauline enough for her many years of leadership and service, and we are happy to support her in her new endeavor.  While the mission of the new program differs too much from our own to make it a part of Egan, we believe there will be significant opportunities for collaboration with Pauline as we work to enhance and expand our Sea of Opportunities program.”

In her nearly ten-year service at EMI, Proch was instrumental in the ongoing restoration of the Nantucket Shipwreck and Lifesaving Museum and the creation and execution of the Sea of Opportunities program.  Prior to her leadership at Egan, she worked for ten years in the Nantucket Public School's Community School and currently serves as Vice President on the Nantucket School Committee.

Pauline commented, "I am so grateful for the opportunity I've had to work with the EMI board and staff over the last decade, and I'm very proud of what we have accomplished together. I'm also very thankful for the Board's support as I launch a new venture to help support our Nantucket teen community. I have always had a keen interest and desire to work to help support our island youth. "
Proch will continue in her current position full-time through the end of the year and help Egan Maritime with the search process for its next leader.
