  • AAN to Host Sea, Sky & Sand Exhibition In the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery

Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) is pleased to be hosting the Sea, Sky & Sand Exhibition beginning on Friday, July 22 in the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, 19 Washington Street. Doors open at 10 AM.

“As the island embraces all the wonderful aspects of summer with the overflowing window boxes, gardens full of color, wild flowers running wild, the smell of the sea and the warmth of the sand, we thought this title for a mid-season show made perfect sense,” said gallery director Peter J. Greenhalgh. “We invite you to come inside and enjoy the beauty of the Little Grey Lady hanging on our gallery walls.”

“With close to three hundred local artist members, the wide selection of works will include oils, watercolors, pastels, woodcuts, mixed media, colored pencil, photographs, ceramics, textiles, and some jewelry” said AAN artistic director and curator Robert Frazier, “you won’t want to miss this exciting exhibition.”

A stone’s throw from Main Street, the award-winning Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery is one of the most comprehensive venues for local art, and this season we’re also exhibiting work at our Big Gallery, upstairs at 12 Straight Wharf.

    Sea, Sky & Sand will be on display from Friday July 22 – August 8, at the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, located at 19 Washington Street, in the heart of Nantucket’s Cultural District. Open Tuesday – Saturday, 10 A.M. – 5 P.M. (closed 2- 2:30), Sunday, 10 A.M. – 4 P.M and Monday, 11 A.M. – 4 P.M.
