During this unprecedented time,
The Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) is
working on developing creative ways for our community to enjoy the gift of art by
hosting its first-ever
Drive Thru Art Fair 2020. To be held on
Monday May 18 at the
Visual Arts Center (VAC) parking lot 24 Amelia Drive, 11 AM - 3 PM, this will be a
no-contact event.
“We’re committed to offering new and exciting opportunities for our patrons and island art
enthusiasts, so we are delighted to offer this drive-through exhibition,” said AAN executive
director
Courtney Bridges.
Interested customers can drive through our open air parking lot and view works for sale from the
safety of their cars, all while getting the sales information on their phone,”said AAN artistic
director
Robert Frazier, who conceived of the idea.
“With our properties closed to the public, we are pleased to be able to offer this unique and zero
contact event for our island residents as we continue to be grateful to all those who are working
so diligently to keep our island home safe,” added
Bridges.
“We are determined to find safe ways for the public to enjoy the creativity, and soothing effects of
art, while also supporting the AAN and our local artist members during these unsettled times,”
added
Frazier.
Featured art will include works by Joan Albaugh, Ginger Andrews, Susan Briskman, Mary Ellen
Castle, Barbara Clarke, Elizabeth Congdon, Susan Coyne, Jenna Darkow, MJ Levy Dickson,
