EGAN MARITIME INSTITUTE TO HOLD INAUGURAL ART SALE
Nantucket Island, MA – For the first time in its history Egan Maritime Institute will be conducting a sale of works of art that were obtained by Bud and Dorothy Egan and bequeathed to Egan Maritime Institute. Other pieces were donated to Egan Maritime by a number of supporters over the years. Potential buyers will find a variety of works from artists such as Elizabeth Rebecca Coffin, Wendell Macy, Anton Otto Fischer, Rodney J.K. Charman, J. Stobart, Roy Cross and Nikita Carpenko. Certain pieces will be listed as Buy It Now and other pieces will be sold via Silent Auction. Pauline Proch, Egan Maritime’s Executive Director, stated “We are thrilled to be in a position to offer this art for sale so that it may be shared and enjoyed by a wider audience. Bud and Dorothy were all about Nantucket. The proceeds of this sale will help support our youth maritime programming and the Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museums education programs.” The sale will be held at the Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum over Thanksgiving Weekend on Friday, November 26 and Saturday, November 27.
