AAN hosts Winter is Coming Exhibition
in the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery
Football games, mulled cider, woolen throws, bittersweet & pumpkins, late autumn on the island. The Artists Association of Nantucket
(AAN) is pleased to announce, in recognition of the off season, it will be hosting a Winter is Coming
beginning on Friday, October 29.
The exhibition will be on display through Saturday, November 13
in the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, 19 Washington Street.
“Given the busy pace of summer and rush of life during those months, we thought this theme would help our artists and art enthusiasts relax into the next season on island,” said AAN artistic director Robert Frazier.
“We look forward to a robust exhibition as well as seeing what our artists feel best represents the approaching winter in their works,” added Frazier.
With over two hundred artist members, the gallery features a broad selection of oil paintings, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, woodcuts, ceramics, works in wood, mixed media, photographs, and some jewelry.
The Winter is Coming
exhibition will be on display from October 29 – November 13 at the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, 19 Washington Street -
in the heart of Nantucket’s Cultural District - a stone’s throw from Main Street.
The gallery is open, Tuesday–Saturday 10 A.M.–5 P.M., closed 2 – 2:30. The online exhibition during this time is called Art for Art’s Sake
and will be live through Monday November 22 and may be found on our new website: www.nantucketarts.org
