    AAN announces annual Plein Air Festival Nantucket 2020 to kick off the association’s 75 th Anniversary year celebration.

    Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) is pleased to announce the expanded 75 th anniversary-
    year celebration of the association’s annual Plein Air Nantucket festival. This year’s festival will
    serve as a kick-off event for the 75 th anniversary and a year full of festivities. Plein Air
    Nantucket 2020 takes place Tuesday, June 16–Sunday, June 21. Now in its ninth year, the
    festival is going strong, attracting more participants and visitors each year.

    For this special year AAN has an added a new experience to the week on Monday, June 15. A
    day-trip package for this one-day Paint Nantucket!
    event will be available for people who
    would like to participate from off island. The trip would include travel to the island, lunch and the
    opportunity to participate in a group sale of artwork at the end of the day. For more information

    “We are proud to commemorate AAN’s amazing 75 years of art preservation, promotion and
    education on Nantucket,” said AAN artistic director Robert Frazier, “and look forward to an
    exciting year of events and celebrations. The Plein Air Festival is one of the highlights of each
    year.”

    The Plein Air Festival, an outdoor painting event, where artists paint together along the historic
    Nantucket harbor and surrounding area, is full of creativity and camaraderie. Each day new wet
    works hang for sale at the AAN Cecelia Joyce and Seward Johnson Gallery. The Plein Air
    Paint Out at Brant Point beach takes place on June 17, starting at 10 a.m. with the public
    welcome. (Rain date 6/18.) The poplular Frank Swift Chase Awards will be presented at the June
    21 closing reception at 6 p.m. at the AAN Gallery. There will be also be Plein Air maps available
    with photos of where to find the artists painting.

    The Festival includes the Plein Air Paint Out at Brant Point on June 17 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
    and the Frank Swift Chase Awards ceremony and recption on Sunday, June 21 at 6 p.m.
    held at the Cecelia Joyce and Seward Johnson Gallery, 19 Washington Street.

    the heart of Nantucket’s Cultural District, and at the AAN gallery. The Cecelia Joyce and Seward
