  • Nantucket Community Television Partners With The Nantucket Comedy Festival For A New Series

Nantucket Community Television is proud to announce a new partnership with The Nantucket Comedy Festival in support for Stand Up and Learn. These two nonprofits are teaming up to support the island’s community (and beyond) bringing viewers a new weekly program broadcasting a comedy show called THE BEST MEDICINE.

Perfect timing. “For the past 13 summers, the nation's best comics and rising stars have gathered on Nantucket.....The Nantucket Comedy Festival is a highlight of the island's summer scene, as it benefits the Stand Up and Learn Foundation for local youngsters, and provides a series of hilarious evenings.

Now, in this challenging time, in the spirit of the Festival, we going to gather a group of comics, to provide some laughs, some diversion, and a dose of the Best Medicine....” Says Kevin Flynn, Executive Director of The Nantucket Comedy Festival in support for Stand Up and Learn.

This will be a weekly show hosted by multi-Emmy winner and recently retired ESPN host, Bob Ley. Each week Bob will be joined by four nationally known comedians to bring comedy to viewers tuned in to NCTV channels during this difficult time, because laughter is the best medicine.

THE BEST MEDICINE will be broadcasted LIVE on Thursday evenings at 7pm on NCTV channel 18 and YouTube/NCTV18. The premiere show will present a virtual round table chat - buckle up for laughter because we can all us this right about now with Bob Ley (host), Kevin Flynn, Jimmy Dunn, Kelly MacFarland and Tom Cotter.

These comedians and the crew at NCTV are producing this as a non-funded show, and is our joint contribution to our viewers during this pandemic. Please tune in to channel 18 or YouTube/nctv18 at 7pm Thursdays, starting tonight March 26. We are all in this together and will keep going onward till we see you again on stage, on Main Street, or at Nantucket’s Media Arts Center.

Stay safe. Remain Healthy. Wash your hands and take this “Best Medicine”!
