    KRISTIE FERRANTELLA CONFIRMED PRESIDENT/CEO at NANTUCKET CHAMBER of COMMERCE


    Nantucket, MA 22 May 2020 — The directors of Nantucket Chamber of Commerce yesterday confirmed Kristie Ferrantella, then interim president/CEO of Nantucket Chamber, to permanent head of the organization. The island Chamber is charged with supporting its diverse and thriving business community and promoting domestic and international tourism to the island, where tourism is one of its chief industries. As one of Massachusetts’ 16 regional tourism councils, the Chamber is responsible for implementing wide-ranging tourism marketing and public and travel trade relations initiatives under the direction of the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism.

    Chairman of the Chamber Board Burt Rice said, “I am pleased, on behalf of the Executive Board of the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce, to announce the promotion of Kristie Ferrantella to President/CEO of the Chamber.  Kristie has been an asset to the Chamber since her hiring in early 2018 and has the business drive behind her to take the Chamber into the future.  We are looking forward to what she will do for us and the local business community of Nantucket as she launches new initiatives and goals that will continue the path that we have embarked on at the Chamber.  We are confident that with her leadership that this will take the Chamber to a whole new level that is all about local businesses and our support of them.”

    Ferrantella, a Nantucket native, has a diverse and comprehensive statistical, economics, mathematics and research background, having graduated Simmons University summa cum laude (B. S. in Economics and Mathematics) and University of Massachusetts Boston (M.A. in Applied Economics) and a wide research, analytical and economics pedigree. Locally, Ferrantella is a member of the Town of Nantucket Select Board and Scholarship Committee. 

    “I am honored to be entrusted with this challenging position which integrates much of my education and work experience along with travel and tourism development. Having worked in Washington D.C. and Boston, it is fulfilling to bring my skills to bear on this multifaceted position where I can implement acquired and learn new skills while supporting and promoting the place I call home, Nantucket,” said Ferrantella.
