Karmen Caylor and Laura Caryn Gray Join Nantucket Chamber of Commerce
Nantucket, MA August 2019 — David W. Martin, President & CEO of Nantucket Chamber of Commerce, announced that Karmen Caylor and Laura Caryn Gray have joined as Member Relations & Events Coordinator and Member Services & Marketing Coordinator, respectively. These vital positions will both significantly drive member services and relations while providing enhanced marketing for events and other initiatives.
Gray will provide new members onboarding support and ensure each new member maximizes its Chamber benefits. Gray will also assist the Marketing & Communications Director in social media support for members and ensuring the Chamber gives voice to their respective enterprises, milestones and successes. Caylor will maintain ongoing communications with members and manage Chamber events throughout the year.
Caylor is a native Arkansan, from Searcy, whose husband is presently in the Coast Guard. She is a 2013 graduate of University of Arkansas graduating with a BS in Hospitality Management and Sociology. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority, was active in the Hospitality Club, intramural softball, community service, and volunteered for Fayetteville Visitors Bureau. Caylor’s detail-orientation and organization make her ideal for this new position. She also has a significant hospitality experience serving as an intern at a regional CVB, a hotel general manager. a travel agent and, most recently, an events coordinator in a corporate setting. Caylor will manage all Chamber events including Daffodil Weekend and Nantucket Noel. Caylor enjoys creatively balancing the old with the new and her language staples are her humorous “Woo Pig Sooie” and “y’all,” a nod to her lifetime southern roots!
Laura Caryn Gray
Gray hails from Chicopee, MA and arrived on Nantucket 2½ years ago from greater Boston. Gray’s strong customer service and development background are ideal to ensure deep and productive connections with Chamber members which will translate into enduring and rewarding relationships in promoting Nantucket as both a wonderful place to live, work and play and as an incomparable destination. In her free time, Gray enjoys exploring the beach with friends, family and, of course, her beloved dog Marty.
Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce (also Nantucket Chamber of Commerce) is Nantucket island’s primary business organization advocating for local enterprises, trade and the hospitality community. The Chamber is currently 754 members strong, a 25% increase from just two years ago. Strongly advocating for on-island businesses while marketing and publicizing Nantucket as a high value destination regionally, domestically and internationally, Nantucket Chamber is the organization at the heart of the island’s
