  • Chamber Red Ticket Program

The Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce Annual Red Ticket Program has official begun, with participating Chamber member merchants dispensing one red ticket for every $25 spent through December 23rd. Double Red Ticket Days will take place on both December 8th and 15th—our “Home for the Holidays Weekends”—with two tickets awarded for each $25 purchase. A list of participating merchants can be found at www.nantucketredtickets.com.

At 3PM on December 24, five lucky winners of $1,000 and one winner of $5,000 will be announced by Town Crier Eric Goddard at the top of Main Street. New this year, there will be a lucky 7th winner! Tickets will be drawn from the bed of a Don Allen Ford pickup truck by 2018 Chamber Scholarship recipient Tessa Whelden.

Last year, over 650,000 tickets were distributed, representing in excess of $16 million in local sales. The Red Ticket Program was created by the Chamber in 1984 as an incentive to boost the island economy by encouraging residents to “shop local” for the holidays.

The Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce, an independent, member-driven organization is comprised of over 700 businesses. Founded in 1934, the Chamber celebrates over 80 years of service to the island. It is the primary organization dedicated to promoting the interests of the Nantucket business community and continues to drive programs such as the Red Ticket drawing, as well as shoulder season and member networking events.
