    JULY 13, 2019  Rafael Osona Auctions will offer a single-owner sale of items from Michael Kittredge’s compound, “ACKlandia” in Nantucket, Massachusetts. Michael Kittredge is best known as the founder of Yankee Candle. The offerings include maritime art and artifacts, 2 automobiles, English antiques, furnishings and décor, Gloster teak garden furniture, old style game-room/arcade amusements and wine related service pieces and furnishings for entertaining.

    There’s something for everyone: A maritime arts & artifacts collection including a fabulous pair of Bronze Gangway Plaques of Heraldic Bearing. There’s an antique Brass Inlaid Ship’s Wheel, among several antique yacht and ship’s wheels, binnacles with their compasses, as well as a Ship's Brass Telegraph from Glasgow, Scotland.     A teenage Michael J. Kittredge founded Yankee Candle Company in his parent’s garage in 1969.  A Holyoke, MA native, well-known entrepreneur and self-made man, Kittredge sold 90% of his candle company 29 years later for $500 million. ACKlandia was his summer residence.
