Artists Association of Nantucket announces Winning Artists of the People’s Choice Exhibition

The Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) is pleased to announce the winning artists for the People’s Choice exhibition, a recent show that was held in the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, 19 Washington Street.

Throughout the course of the exhibition, visitors voted for their favorite works via a secure & private text sent to AAN gallery manager Peter J. Greenhalgh. “During this no-touch no contact time, we determined this was the safest and most efficient way to have our guests submit their votes,” said Greenhalgh. “We were delighted so many visitors voted, and are excited for the winning artists and all our participating members. The exhibition included a nice cross-section of work from our long established artists as well some recently accepted members,” added Greenhalgh.

Overall Winner:  David Macaulay, Dancing Alone (oil)

Second:                 Courtney Muller, Setting Sun (oil & cold wax)

Third:                    Elizabeth Congdon, Away and Over Moors (oil)

“The AAN includes over three hundred artist members who have truly worked with us during this different season, and we extend our congratulations to each of the chosen winners,” said AAN artistic director Robert Frazier.

    The gallery - in the heart of Nantucket’s Cultural District - is open, Tuesday–Saturday 10 A.M.–5 P.M., closed 2 – 2:30.
