Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) is pleased to be hosting a Summer Small Works Exhibition beginning on Friday, May 27 in the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, 19 Washington Street. Doors open at 11 AM.
“Each artist may bring in up to six works that must measure 12 by 16 inches or smaller, so the gallery will be resplendent with dazzling works in oils, watercolors, acrylics, woodcuts, ceramics, jewelry and photographs, all emphasizing the broad talents and diversity of our members,” said gallery director Peter J. Greenhalgh.
“The summer small works show is a favorite AAN tradition for artists and customers alike, and there is always something for every taste and style,” added Greenhalgh.
“We’ve recently accepted close to twenty new artist members and are looking forward to their involvement, so the small works show is a wonderful way to welcome them as they exhibit alongside our established artist members,” said AAN artistic director and curator Robert Frazier.
A stone’s throw from Main Street, the AAN is one of the most comprehensive venues for local art, and our artists have helped to make the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery an award-winning gallery (“Best Of” from I&M and Best New England Gallery, Yankee Magazine).
Summer Small Works will be on display from Friday May 27 – June 20, at the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, located at 19 Washington Street, in the heart of Nantucket’s Cultural District. Open Tuesday – Saturday, 11 A.M. – 5 P.M. Sunday, 11 A.M. – 4 P.M.
