AAN hosts Artist/Patron Juried Exhibition in the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery
Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) will host their annual Artist/Patron Exhibition, with an opening reception on Friday August 17, 6-8 P.M. The exhibition will be on display through Monday, September 3 in the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, 19 Washington Street.
“A long-standing tradition of the AAN is to hold a juried Artist/Patron Exhibition during the summer months, and we are especially pleased to announce loyal patrons and AAN board members Peter Steingraber and Robin Wolpow will be this year’s jurors,” said AAN curator of exhibitions Robert Frazier.
“Historically our artists bring in their strongest works for this special exhibition, which we consider one of the high points of our gallery season, where we showcase the best new works by the island’s premier artists.  This year marks the AAN’s seventy-third season, and we are delighted that Peter and Robin have agreed to be our jurors,” added Frazier. “With their in-depth knowledge of island art, they will review assorted works in oils, acrylics, watercolor, photography, mixed media, and ceramics for recognition or awards.”
The Solo Show Spotlight Artist during this exhibition is Julia Mostykanova Feeney, who will discuss her art and techniques during an hour-long free and informal discussion at the Spotlight Series Artist talk on Saturday, August 18 at 10 A.M. at the gallery.
Generous support of the exhibition comes from our friends at White Hart Design.
Artist /Patron exhibition will be on display from August 17–September 3 at the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, 19 Washington Street - in the heart of Nantucket’s Cultural District and a stone’s throw from Main St.
The gallery is open daily, Monday–Saturday 10 A.M.–6 P.M. (closed 2–2:30) and Sunday 11 A.M.–4 P.M.  To learn more about the AAN, visit the website at www.nantucketarts.org. For further information about AAN 2018 programs and events, please call 508-228-0722.
