  • 2019 Red Ticket Winners

(Dec. 24, 2019) The Nantucket Chamber of Commerce held its annual Red Ticket drawing Tuesday afternoon, making Christmas a little merrier for seven islanders.

Matthew Fry took home the $5,000 prize, with a ticket the received from Island Lumber, and Maria Silva won a new prize this year, a $500 gift card from Stop & Shop with a ticket they received from Bartlett's Farm.

Winners of the $1,000 prizes, and the businesses that provided them the tickets, were Lori Holmes (from Stop & Shop), Richard Anthony Ho-Shue (from Marine Home Center), Chris Canty (from Blue Beetle), E. Malcom Condon III (from Don Allen Ford) and Mike Roper (from Don Allen Ford).

The Chamber's Annual Red Ticket Program (with the drawing held every Christmas Eve) is aimed to encourage islanders and visitors to shop on the island, with participating Chamber members providing one red ticket for each $25 spent. On December 14, there was a Double Red Ticket Day and some businesses also held surprise pop-up Double Red Ticket Days.

This year, more than 700,000 tickets were handed out, representing more than $17.5 million in purchases from participating businesses during the holiday season.

Other tickets that were pulled, but the winner was not present, were from Don Allen Ford, Island Variety, Marine Home Center, and Stop & Shop.
