Our mission is to offer inclusive recreational activities that support and celebrate diverse strengths and abilities through collaborations with families and community partners.
Nantucket S.T.A.R.'s team of therapists, teachers, special educators and caring volunteers help individuals with special needs participate in a wide variety of sports and recreational activities in a supportive environment.
S.T.A.R. (Sports & Therapeutic Accessible Recreation) began in 2003 when occupational therapist Renee Gamberoni and parent Max Goode recognized a need for adaptive programs and recreation for individuals with special needs. Twenty years later, we are proud to continue their work of offering quality sports and recreation for individuals with diverse needs and abilities.
