Science Pub: History & Genetics of Nantucket Deer

Science Pub is back for our 8th season! We’re continuing these presentations as a virtual series, to offer a greater variety of speakers and allow folks to tune in from anywhere. Join us for the first talk of the year with Dr. Richard Beckwitt of Framingham State University. Dr. Beckwitt will present on the History and Genetics of White-tailed Deer on Nantucket. We’ll hear about the genetic evidence behind the accounts of how deer “arrived” on island, and about how our deer herd’s genetic diversity compares to mainland herds.
