Panelist Information
Spas Marinkov is the owner of Window Spa Company here on Nantucket Island. The Window Spa Company was established in 2011. The company provides cleaning of window, house cleaning, gutter cleaning and power washing, with a combined cleaning experience of 20 years. If you have never had your home professionally cleaned, then you're in for a treat.
Bess Clarke
As CEO of Nantucket Looms, Bess Clarke is involved in all aspects of the company and brings with her a lifetime of experience. She is the daughter of Liz Winship (who has been integral to Nantucket Looms for the past 40 years), which allowed her early insight into running an evolving, multi-faceted business.
Today, Bess oversees daily operations and business development with a local, sustainable approach, ever mindful of the community and spirit of the island. With her experience in retail marketing and appreciation for the art and craftsmanship represented on Nantucket, Bess is committed to keeping the Looms legacy alive and well in all areas, from the eclectic assortment of merchandise found online and in the retail showroom to the full-service interior design center and custom handwovens created in the company’s Main Street studio.
Chris Young is the owner of Nantucket Housefitters, a business he started in 2002. He finds that running a small business on Nantucket means facing an array of challenges – and takes so much time, it’s hard to sit down and write a decent bio for this event. He looks forward to the chance to share his experiences with, and learn from, the other members of the panel and audience.
Patrick Ridge
Chef Patrick Ridge started his cooking career at the young age of 14, and was immediately drawn to the sense of community and camaraderie that exists within the kitchen. After receiving his formal training at the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Patrick went on to complete numerous apprenticeships at two and three Michelin starred restaurants both in the US and abroad.
Previously, he was Head Chef of Le Languedoc and he oversaw the development of Pronto, a high-end store-to-table concept. To broaden his event and business experience, Chef Patrick spent time working as a private chef and has been the driving force behind many high profile catered events on and off island. Chef Patrick has been featured at the Nantucket Food & Wine Festival and other noteworthy island events. Patrick was also accepted at the highly ranked Entrepreneurship program at Babson College where he completed his MBA.
Island Kitchen brings together all of Chef Patrick’s passions: cuisine, Nantucket, entrepreneurship and real estate. When he’s not cooking, Chef Patrick enjoys spending time fishing and conjuring up his next projects.
