Nantucket Garden Festival: Nothing is Impossible Keynote Address by Eliot Coleman
Eliot Coleman, acclaimed organic farming expert, helped start the organic food movement with “The New Organic Grower” published over 30 years ago. He continues to lead the way, pushing the limits of the traditional harvest season. Following an introduction by Russell Morash of The Victory Garden and This Old House fame, in his keynote address, Coleman will make the case for why organic farming and gardening matters and how it has changed from the ‘70s to today. A passionate advocate for the revival of small-scale sustainable farming, Coleman will provide a practical model for supplying fresh, locally grown produce during the winter season, even in climates where conventional wisdom says it can't be done. Lastly, he will share how novice, small-scale backyard growers can begin to become more sustainable and less dependent on grocery stores. The talk will end with a book signing and a unique opportunity to ask Eliot your gardening questions.
