Nantucket Biodiversity Research Conference Keynote: Constance Rinaldo
Constance Rinaldo is the Librarian of the Ernst Mayr Library of the Museum of Comparative Zoology and Harvard Library and a founding member of the Biodiversity Heritage Library (BHL). She will present the history of the BHL and how it’s collections, services and tools can help anyone interested in biodiversity from the professional naturalist to the budding citizen scientist. At the BHL, Constance works with an international consortium of natural history and botanical libraries in the digitization of taxonomic literature and is vice chair of the Executive Committee. She has a BA in Biology and Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, an MSc in Zoology from the University of Connecticut and an MLS from the University of Maryland. Held every other year, the Nantucket Biodiversity Initiative (NBI) Research Conference (Nov. 1 - 3) seeks to increase our scientific knowledge of the island's understudied taxonomic groups and features presentations about research projects happening on Nantucket, Tuckernuck and Muskeget.
