Linda Loring Nature Foundation Science Pub with Dr. Sarah Bois and Dr. Jen Karberg
Monday, November 18th is the first installment in our 2019/2020 Science Pub series hosted by The Linda Loring Nature Foundation (LLNF). Jen Karberg, PhD, of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation and Sarah Bois, PhD, of the Linda Loring Nature Foundation, will give a talk titled: "Changing Climate: Island-Wide Vulnerability and Natural Resiliency."
This collaborative assessment between Linda Loring Nature Foundation and Nantucket Conservation Foundation seeks to highlight the island’s vulnerable and resilient natural landscapes in light of global climate change. Bois and Karberg take an island-wide approach investigating the natural habitats and open space on the island, assessing potential exposure, vulnerable assets, and adaptive capacity on island. They identify opportunities to protect unique resources; providing climate refugia and ecological connectivity.
Come ready with questions, comments, and concerns about coastal change, sea level rise, erosion and flooding on Nantucket.
This year, Science Pub will again be held at the Saltbox Tavern and Table at 7 Macys Lane. Food and drink available for purchase. Free admission. Call (508)325-0873 for questions or more info.
