A virtual program for anyone interested in learning about the disease of addiction and its' impact on individuals, families and communities.
The Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention is growing increasingly concerned about reports of rising use and misuse of alcohol and other drugs. As with Covid, information is our first line of defense.
One of our longest running and most successful programs, the Community Awareness Program on Addiction, is returning this fall via Zoom. We had a very successful virtual session in May thanks to the support of the Nantucket Community School and the Atheneum, so we are excited to be able to "bring" Janina Kean back to Nantucket over the course of 3 nights this fall. You do not need to know anyone with a substance use disorder to attend.
The program is offered free to our community thanks to support from SAMSHA, the CDC and the Town of Nantucket.
This program is appropriate for high school aged students and adults.
