TRANSPORTATION & LODGING RESOURCES FOR VISITORS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS The Nantucket Commission on Disability consists of year-round Island residents with disabilities or are family members of disabled persons. Members are appointed to advise the Town in achieving compliance with state and federal access standards. As in most communities in the United States, public and private efforts to improve structural and programmatic access on Nantucket are ongoing. One of the projects that we have been involved in is the placing of curb cuts in our downtown area.
