Nantucket Garden Festival Gardening for Pollinators
Experience the living landscape at a tucked away Nantucket home to learn about planting and maintaining your own successful pollinator garden. From garden design and choosing proper native plants to keeping bees and attracting birds, butterflies and other insects, experts Rita Higgins (landscape design), Emily Molden of the Nantucket Land Council (monarchs and other pollinators) and Alden Lenhart (beekeeping) will teach you how to create and maintain a sustainable, edible oasis. As the finale, participants will learn how to harvest honey, all while enjoying a sampling of local honey from island beekeepers.
