Geschke Lecture: Dr. Jerrold Rosenbaum, 'Understanding Depression and How and Why We Treat it”

Dr. Rosenbaum will give an overview of  the syndrome doctors call 'Major Depressive Disorder” or what many just refer to as Depression, how it can manifest, what determines who is at risk, how it affects the mind and body, approaches to treatment and our understanding of how treatment works.  Also he will also address the prospects for improved  treatments or, better yet, prevention in the future.

At Massachusetts General Hospitals, Dr. Rosenbaum directs a department ranked by U.S. News and World Report as the #1 Department of Psychiatry in the United States in 2016-17, where he specializes in mood and anxiety disorders.

The recipient of numerous awards, Dr Rosenbaum co-founded Psy Therapeutics to advance the discovery of novel drugs and diagnostics for psychiatric disorders. He has authored more than 400 original articles and reviews and has published 20 books.
