CHAMBER MISSION STATEMENT
To foster Nantucket’s economic vitality, while respecting the island’s unique quality of life, to the benefit of our membership and community.
The Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1934 and incorporated in 1954. For over 75 years, it has been the primary organization on Nantucket dedicated to promoting the interests of the business community. We are 600 strong in membership and from all walks of island business life: from visitor’s services, non-profit organizations, businesses, and individual members…and ranging in size from cottage industries to professionals to corporations. We pride ourselves in serving the needs of all our members with workshops, networking opportunities, marketing opportunities, local initiatives and legislative advocacy to ensure the growth of our member organizations.
The Chamber is concerned with the ongoing viability of the island’s historical, cultural, civic, environmental and recreational features that position Nantucket as a wonderful place…to live, work and visit!
Like most local Chambers, the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce has no affiliation with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Our revenue is derived from membership dues and fees from membership events.
To some, being a Chamber member is an important part of their organization’s growth plan. Our marketing off-island and around the world ensures visitors to our island and the growth of our island’s economy…something individual businesses simply cannot afford to do on their own. To others, the belief that there is strength in numbers ensures the business interests of the community are being heard. And, for others, it is simply the right thing to do to invest in the economic health of Nantucket.
Whatever your reason…Please join us - together we can make a difference!
